Just finished reading: The Expert System’s Champion (The Expert System’s Brother Book 2) by Adrian Tchaikovsky 📚 This book and its predecessor The Expert System’s Brother are great! I love the realistic aspect of how exploration on another planet is dealt with and not ignored as usual in SciFi.

Hello Scott, and welcome! Thanks for checking out our corner of the internet. We put together a special page with tips for using Micro.blog, finding people to follow, and what makes it different from other blogging and social media services. welcome.micro.blog

@jean Thanks Jean. I have been here for a while, but with recent events I have come back to be a real participant. It is a good excuse to actually start producing some content.

Many of us have developed a strong blogging habit here. I look forward to seeing your posts. (PS I was a big fan of your plug-ins!)

thanks for sharing. I love sci-fi fiction and could see that there are many other books by the author, who I didn’t know. These two have gone into my “to read” list :)

Yeah, as I was posting that, I tried to remember why I was no longer using Mail-Act On. I think I gave up on trying to be organized with my mail. I will give it another look with the fresh eyes of a recovering GTD adherent.

@jean Question for you: why doesn’t this post (the original one) show up in the books discover page? Did I do something wrong? Does the icon need to be in the first x characters of the message, when it is a post?

I see it on the Books timeline. They are in strictly reverse chronological order, so you have to scroll back a couple days. Can you check again?

@jean Huh, I was checking in the Gluon app. I don’t see it there, but I do see it in the Micro.blog app. In fact, the entire list seems very different between the two

@jean Huh, even more strange, on the website looks more like Gluon’s list than the Mb app. Though the Mb app is the only one with my post. There seem to be many differences though, for instance a post by @multoghost is not there either on the site “The Ghost of Charlotte Grey”

@jean oh interesting, I’d need to check what’s happening here. Gluon runs its own feeds that use the MB ones every minute or so, so it all should be there…
Hmmmmmmm.

@jean For what it’s worth, I’ve never seen any of my book posts on the Books timeline, either in the Mb app or via a web browser. I think I just assumed that timeline only read from the Discover timeline, or from the Bookshelves, because all the posts I do see look like Bookshelves posts.
I do see my movie, quotes, and TV posts on the appropriate timelines, though.

@MultoGhost I do see your post from December 8 on the Books 📚 timeline on the official app, but the web version can’t scroll back that far. 🤔 I didn’t notice any book posts by you after that.
Tagging @help to take a look at this too.

@gluon That’s the thing — Gluon’s feed looks the same as the site (which seems the definitive one, even if it isn’t showing my book), but the Mb app has a different list. Weird.
